Retouching old photos

Everyone have a bunch of old photos in their basement. About hundred years ago, when photography became popular people started saving memories on paper. But technology wasn’t so much developed and first photos where black and white. Paper is not a durable substance. A lot of old pictures hold the memory of people who lived long ago. Over time, on photographs appear scratches, crackings, color fades. Digital retouching old photos makes wonders however it is not omnipotent. The earlier picture will be restored the greater its chances to save memory. To restore old photos in the first you need a scanner. You need to scan photos with a resolution no less than 600dpi. Then scanned photos should be loaded into a special program for image processing. The most popular program for retouching old photos is Adobe Photoshop but it is not free. Alternatively, you can use the free GIMP. In order to remove the crack from the photo you need to copy in their place adjacent areas.
